STAY IN THE KNOW

Sunrise is the perfect time to capture some stunning family photos in the mountain meadows of Flagstaff. Especially during the Monsoon season. I had such a wonderful time working with Christina, John, and Noelle among all of the beautiful lupine flowers during this sweet session!

To celebrate Christina’s new career endeavor, the family traveled to Flagstaff. Perfect for enjoying a week of cooler weather, relaxation, and outdoor exploration. As part of their trip, Christina reached out to see if I had availability for a family portrait session. Little Noelle had just turned 7 months and it was the time to capture some sweet photos of the family.

First, I want to say how stunning the outfit choices are for these Flagstaff mountain portraits. The Ricketts followed my Style Guide to-a-T. Reaching out to me a week before the session for an outfit check, Christina mentioned she loves to shop at Nordstrom for dressier occasions. She typically accessorizes with earrings and heels. Her choices for this session were clean, classic pieces that were perfect for family photos. A long, flowing feminine dress with sparkling earrings for her; neutral slacks and a blue button-down for John; and the cutest cream onesie for Noelle.

Walking the gorgeous green meadow as the sunlight cast a golden glow, it was immediately apparent how much Christina loves her family, spending every minute she can with them (especially adorable Noelle).  Christina and John first met at a bar and Christina immediately fell for John’s strength and humor. After 5 years of marriage, they decided to grow their family and Noelle was born.

As we made our way to a few photo spots, Christina added how much she loves the Peaks and Flagstaff – a stunning setting for their session because she “couldn’t think of anywhere more beautiful.” I smiled because I feel the same way about my mountain hometown.

We were rained-out the evening before with Monsoon weather. It was so worth waking up early for a sunrise session with this beautiful family. A huge thank you to Christina and John for getting up early for this session. We enjoyed every minute of the little adventure! Spending the morning telling stories, laughing, and getting to know one another was a great way to start a week day. Noelle is an absolute ray of sunshine! Always smiling.
