Should I get my hair and makeup done before our shoot?

Your comfort is my #1 priority. You are beautiful whatever you choose!

I will say that past clients have commented that professional hair and makeup made getting ready for our shoot so much easier!

what type of makeup looks best in photos?

I will be happy to provide recommendations if needed! Please reach out to let me know you would like some suggestions and I will promptly respond with local artists I love. 

What should I wear? 

I provide a detailed style guide with tips on what to wear after you book a session that all of my clients have LOVED. I've also put together a Pinterest board for outfit inspiration: What to Wear. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out with any options you may be considering! I will be happy to discuss a few of my favorite brands to match your vision and help find retail that provides the option to rent if needed to ensure we find a look you love.

Do you use champagne, confetti, glitter, or smoke bombs?

I personally do not. As a Leave No Trace Aware photographer, I understand certain materials may be detrimental to the environment and beautiful outdoor locations I shoot. You can learn more about the principals I follow for my sessions https://lnt.org/.

Sparkling water makes a beautiful replacement for champagne. If you want the effect of confetti or glitter for a specific outdoor image (hello senior grads!), please let me know. I can recommend some beautiful natural alternatives. Photoshop can also work wonders to provide the type of images you may be interested in for those outdoor shoots.

How long does a session last?

Select seasonal mini-sessions will last approximately 20 minutes. Signature portrait photography sessions will last up to 90 minutes. 

What if there's a chance of rain the date/time of our session?

I typically schedule sunset shoots for sunny days or overcast days for the best lighting. I keep a close eye on the weather the week of each session. I'll be in touch to discuss our options to reschedule if needed. If I can keep both my gear and clients safe, I am open to exploring our options! Please note that during Monsoon season (July - August), sunrise sessions may be recommended.

How should I prepare for a session?

Please bring any outfits/accessories, a hat or umbrella for shade, 32 oz of water and a snack, comfortable shoes to change into depending on location, and sunblock. I will also have a basic, fully-stocked first-aid kit from REI on-hand. 

Even though we may not need all items, I typically advise my clients to prepare for a photoshoot as if they were preparing for a hike - that way you'll have everything you may need. 

do you deliver every image you shoot?

I personally curate, select, edit, and deliver the very best images from our session. My years of experience ensure that I deliver stunning photos representative of both my artistic standards and current portfolio! 

The amount of images you receive depends on the session length, type, and timing. Generally, I deliver at least 15 images per half-hour of coverage for aerial sessions and at least 45 images per hour of coverage for portrait sessions!

How are images delivered after the session?

You will receive a link to a curated, customized Pinterest-style online gallery allowing you to download all of the beautiful, high-resolution images and order prints if you desire.  

When will I receive images after the session?

I deliver images 30 days after a session, guaranteed. My clients often receive the images early when my schedule/ availability allow. Because I am always so excited for you to see your photos, you will receive two (2) sneak peek images the day after your session and journal entry to follow! My time after a session is dedicated to culling/editing each image to ensure I am providing you with the best photos from our work together. I follow this dedicated timeline to give your images the undivided attention they deserve! 

CAN I print images from our session?

Your exclusive client gallery will allow you to order prints or other products from your session easily! I provide a print release at the time of delivery and take care of processing for you. I work directly with my preferred professional lab ensuring that ordering prints is an easy, stress-free process!

How can I continue to support your small business after a session?

Following on social media (Facebook, Instagram), providing a word of mouth referral, purchasing a physical print,  and writing a testimonial for my services! If you love your images, I would be so grateful if you help spread the word! Please also feel free to tag my Facebook or Instagram accounts when you share photos there. It will help introduce me to your friends and family members who I'd love to serve next! 

Do you have a referral program?

When a new client books a session with Bayley Jordan Photography after your referral, you will receive a $25.00 credit to apply to your next photography session as a thank you for continuing to support my small business. As long as they mention your name at the time of booking their session, you are golden.

How would you describe your style?

Radiant and romantic with a classic, colorful style. My editing style is definitely more "light and airy" but I may not de-saturate colors as much as other photographers. I shoot in natural light and schedule all of my sessions around golden hour. That process allows me to provide the stunning images you see in my portfolio and on the blog today! 

Do you offer gift certificates?

I do offer select seasonal gift certificates and I am so honored you want to share my services! If you are interested in gifting a photo session to a loved one for a special occasion, please write me a note on the Contact page so we may customize a certificate to suit your needs. 

What is your favorite lens? Why?

For portraits or close-up commercial photography, I love the prime lenses - I shoot most often with my 85mm. For landscape photography, a wider angle provided by a 24mm (or 28mm on the drone!) helps capture more of the spectcular surroundings. 

What gear do you shoot with?

Currently I work with a mirrorless Canon R6. Shortly, I'll add the R5 as well. I use a variety of 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm prime lenses as well as the 24-70mm zoom lens. For aerial photography, I operate a DJI Mavic 2 Pro/Mini 4 Pro, which are so much fun to fly. No matter what gear I am using, I make sure to have fully charged batteries and multiple memory cards on-hand at every single session. I don't want to miss a moment!
