To start this Flagstaff meadow maternity session, I should mention Chelsea and Stephen are expecting their first baby in July! Chelsea is my sweet sister and I can’t wait to welcome my new niece to the world.
Chelsea first told me she was expecting last November at a cute frozen yogurt shop in Scottsdale. I was so excited! I was also honored to be the first person they told! So when Chelsea and Stephen called in May to ask if I could capture this special time for them with a maternity portrait session… Immediately, I said yes! I knew it was the perfect way to celebrate the upcoming arrival!
Chelsea and Stephen are going to be the cutest parents ever. I feel so lucky to have them as family members and friends. They have supported my business from the very start. Continually we get to celebrate/capture these milestone moments in their lives through annual photo sessions and I couldn’t be happier.
Chelsea and I grew up together in Flagstaff. The beautiful ponderosa forests and mountain peaks will always hold a special place in our hearts. As such, the location was as the perfect way to “introduce” our hometown to the newest addition to the family and the perfect setting for their photo session. Being the near the start of the summer Monsoon season, it was also the perfect way for the family to beat the heat in Tempe. Chelsea and Stephen traveled to Flagstaff the evening prior to visit with family. We were thankfully able to fit a stunning and secluded sunrise session into our schedules the next morning.
Waking up at 4:00 AM was SO worthwhile for this Flagstaff meadow maternity session. I find that sunrise sessions offer softer, sweeter colors. Sunrise sessions are also often uninterrupted by others exploring the beautiful locations I love to shoot.
I hope you enjoyed meeting my sweet family today! I hope you’re just as excited as we are now for little Emily to arrive!
