Today I have a very special San Francisco Peaks portrait session to share after portraits with sweet Holly! Holly and I first met through Instagram and I quickly became a fan of her modeling work. When I saw that my favorite location in Flagstaff with fields of flowers at the end of summer, Holly and I jumped at the chance to work together.
Making our way to the beautiful grove of Aspens in the sunshine, I asked Holly about her work and time at Northern Arizona University. Holly, a double-major from NAU in Chemistry and Microbiology with a minor in mathematics, has quite the resume and work history. I can’t wait to see where she goes in her career now that she has graduated! She currently works in vaccine development as well as analyzing water samples in the area for health hazards.
While in the undergrad program at NAU, Holly received a Golden Axe, Hooper Undergraduate Research, and Lumberjack Scholars Award. She was also a member of the Honors College at NAU. We enjoyed chatting about our shared experiences in the honors program!
As I am looking back through these images, I have to ask: Is it just me?! I think Holly has that kind of “Angelia Jolie,” grabs your attention, beautiful smile. I asked Holly how she started modeling and she gave me all of the details! Holly didn’t start as a model. She actually got her start in beauty pageants. From our discussion, I could tell she is extremely passionate about the world helping contestants better themselves and their communities. It’s obvious the judges saw that passion in her, as well. Holly won the Miss Arizona US International and Miss Coconino County USA pageants.
As you can see from the images above, we had such a wonderful sunset during our San Francisco Peaks portrait session. What’s next? Soon we’re planning amazing aerial portraits in the Autumn Aspens as well as a Sedona sunrise!
