In case you haven’t heard: The Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee budget reconciliation bill proposes to sell off 3.3 million acres of public lands. There is an area encompassing 250 million acres of Public Lands which are under review. Currently, there is no way to know exactly which 3.3 million acres of the 250 million acres will be taken. Why am I writing about this? Because we need to take action to protect our Public Lands.
To see areas under consideration, view the map below:
Public Lands for Sale in the Senate Reconciliation Bill
I highly recommend zooming in. See exactly which potentially affected areas are at risk. You need to be fully aware of what is at stake.
As a professional photographer, Leave No Trace Aware Photographer, and a person who loves to spend time in the beautiful great outdoors of America, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to take action now to protect our Public Lands.
In Arizona alone, every area notated would be a catastrophic loss. So many of the areas notated are places I have loved to bike, camp, hike, paddleboard, and snowshoe all my life.
Below are steps I urge you to take to make your voice heard on this issue.
