Surrounded by art. The beautiful, colorful murals expanding across the sides of the buildings of Roosevelt Row. I loved exploring the blocks downtown Phoenix during this portrait session a few days ago!
If you told me that the day before Arizona Superbowl LVII between the Chiefs and the Eagles I would be wandering downtown Phoenix for a portrait session with Arizona Highways PhotoScapes guide, Ken Brown, I wouldn’t have believed you.
Immediately I would have wondered about the logistics with the celebratory events and crowds. However, starting at 8:00 AM on the dot, we were GOLDEN thanks to Ken’s expertise and knowledge of the area.
As a Flagstaff local, I always love walking the city streets amidst the green spaces and silver sky scrapers, chatting with clients. The fact that there was artwork to admire the entire way made the area even more perfect! Walking the streets and avenues, I made fast friends with our beautiful model, Kaitlin, answering her kind questions about my business and learning about her interests. During the discussion, I found out that she sings and plays guitar so immediately we needed to incorporate her instruments into the session! I was so happy Ken brought such fun props along for her!
Local artists have truly transformed the area, bringing the city vibrant color and life as the murals continue to change year to year.
I can’t wait to head back to the area again soon for another downtown Phoenix portrait session! Join me by reaching out at the Contact page above then follow my recent work on Instagram if you’d like to keep up-to-date!
